20th Century Fox has been putting trailers out for family movies for years now, and frankly, their output makes it apparent that they think kids are hyperactive idiots who can't pay attention to anything unless someone falls down every five seconds (sounds like I'm being too harsh? Don't forget that this is the studio that is in the process of making a FOURTH Alvin & The Chipmunks movie). With all that in mind, I'm remembering that not everything in this trailer is indicative of what the movie itself will be.
To be fair, this trailer itself isn't terrible; slapstick gags abound, but truthfully, they fit right into past physical gag driven antics like Snoopy trying to steal a certain blue blanket from Linus. And it does look like Charlie Brown will be put through the wringer in this movie, which is good to see. Peanuts was such a great comic because it showed the harsh realities of life, and it's nice to see some moments like that in here. Still, even if its just for a brief montage, All I Do Is Win does not belong anywhere Peanuts, even if it's just (likely) in the marketing and not the movie itself. Refrain from that in the actual film and maybe I won't be so conflicted emotionally about The Peanuts Movie.
