Christopher Lee had a voice as commanding as any in Hollywood, and a filmography as terrific as you could imagine. The legendary actor, tragically, has passed away at the age of 93, living a long life full of incredible achievements, both on a personal and cinematic level. His vast work in the world of acting contains numerous roles audiences across the world fell in love with, including the antagonist Saruman in the Lord of The Rings films.
Lee, as one might imagine, had numerous accomplishments outside of his immense film work, including being knighted, serving in World War II and partaking in not one, but two heavy metal albums. That's right, Dracula sang heavy metal songs, and that's awesome. It's pretty apparent Lee was up for any and everything in his career and approached it with a sort of enthusiasm that's awful contagious.
The world has lost a notable soul today, and hopefully, if we can learn anything from the incredible life lived by Christopher Lee, it's that we should embrace the various opportunities life offers us. Even if they seem different, they can make incredible memories for not just us, but those who care about us. Lees ability to go from dramatic features like Hugo to farcical adventures like Gremlins 2: The New Batch not only demonstrates an incredible versatility, but the sort of incredible events that can occur when one ventures beyond ones comfort zone. Truth be told, I'm not sure Lee even had a comfort zone; it seems like he just did whatever seemed most appealing to him, and we all benefited tremendously from that approach.
