Will Arnetts Lego Batman Is Getting His Own Movie!

Adam West. Michael Keaton. Val Kilmer. Kevin Conroy. George Clooney. Christian Bale. Ben Affleck. These are the men who have brought Batman to life over the years through various mediums, with their interpretations of the Caped Crusader ranging from great (Bale, Conroy) to unknown (Affleck) to abysmal (Kilmer, Clooney). But the best version of him yet is the most recent, Will Arnetts turn as Lego Batman in this years spectacular The Lego Movie. And now, that particular version is getting its own film!
Yes folks, 2017 will now bring a feature-length Lego Batman adventure to the screen. While The Lego Movie 2 was originally planned for release in 2017, its widely presumed the Lego Batman will replace it as Warner Bros. Lego movie for that particular year. It's been pretty obvious Wanrer Bros. intends to turn The Lego Movie into a massive franchise for the company, with sequels occurring, but spin-offs like this Batman feature and a 2016 Ninjago film being a major part of their plan.

I've been wary about this procedure, mainly because the writer and directors of the first film, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, will not be reprising those roles for future projects. However, Arnetts portrayal of Batman was so unique and clever that I think they could actually pull this off; unlike a direct Lego Movie sequel, it won't have to mess with the touching third act of The Lego Movie, instead going off on its own storytelling path to tell amusing tales of Batman and his superhero pals. I do hope this film means Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will reprise their roles as Superman and Green Lantern though. And it wouldn't hurt to hear more of Batmans singing abilities...
Yeah, just hearing that hilarious song again makes me pumped for this Lego Batman movie. I'm so in.
