Marvel Kicks Butt At Comic-Con With Ant-Man and Avengers 2 News PLUS: Official Comic-Con Trailers Mad Max And Kevin Smiths Newest Movie

This is the greatest thing I have ever seen. That is all
Comic-Con is all wrapped up now, but the memories will live on forever, namely the ones that occurred about 24 hours ago, when Marvel Studios took the stage to make another memorable panel in Hall H. The studio is pretty much the king of Comic-Con at this point, and they affirmed such a status by showing off footage from The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man.

Ant-Man was the first movie that went up in the panel, with Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll and the director of the movie Peyton Reed coming out to talk about the picture. Not only did they reveal who Lilly and Stoll would be playing (Hope Van Dyne and Darren Cross respectively) but they also showed off footage that sounded AWESOME. I've been very hopeful for the project for years now, mainly because of all the visual and story opportunities Ant-Man presents, but the ecstatic reaction to the footage makes me think they're gonna fully live up to the potential on hand here.

But that humongous positive reception was pittance compared to the rapturous response the footage for The Avengers: Age of Ultron got. The stuff managed to squeeze in some fun moments (apparently, The Avengers have a humorous scene where they try to pick up Thors hammer) but also showed off how dark this installment will be. It all sounds truly remarkable, and I'm holding out hope that Guardians of The Galaxy might just give us a glimpse at the forthcoming Marvel sequel. Speaking of that rapidly approaching Marvel flick, its sequel just got a release date; July 28, 2017.

Overall, some great stuff, from an extraordinary company. Plus, Robert Downey Jr. gave Josh Brolin a flower that the actor devoured. And if that's not awesome to you, I don't know what is. Now, to wrap up this terrific Comic-Con weekend, here are two trailers unveiled for attendees over the weekend that studios Warner Bros. Pictures and A24 have kindly put online. First up is the trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road, which is just beautiful.

And now, Kevin Smiths next feature, Tusk. It looks disturbing, but I'll be there opening night for sure simply due to all the remarkable talent involved.
