If you told me back in early January when I saw Inside Llewyn Davis that Oscar Isaac would have been cast in two of the biggest franchises by the end of the year, I'd have said you were crazy. But the actor has fared well indeed by winding up in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and now has been cast as the major antagonist Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse.
We got a peek at this baddie in the post-credits scene of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, but he'll be the central focus of the next X-Men movie as he clashes with the First Class versions of Xavier, Beast and Magneto. I'm glad Isaac is getting so many major roles, especially since he could lend some real depth to this particular character. It's also nice that he continues the tradition of getting really big actors to play villains in this X-Men: First Class trilogy, as past villains were played by Kevin Bacon and Peter Dinklage.
