Well, color me more than a tad bit surprised that Paddington is an out-and-out charmer of a movie! What looked like yet another Alvin And The Chipmunks knock-off in its marketing turned out to be something genuinely special, a sweet tale exploring the experience of a foreign individual trying to adapt to the customs and culture of a new country. Unlike, say, Million Dollar Arm or something, the fellow whose actually trying to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings is the lead of this particular story, meaning we, the audience, get to really dive into how such an experience would affect a persons psyche.
Welcome to Land of The Nerds, where I, Lisa Laman, use my love of cinema to explore, review and talk about every genre of film imaginable!

Taken 3 Review
Even Liam Neeson seems to be over "action Liam Neeson" at this point. Oh I'm sure he's more than enjoyed the hefty paychecks and massively increased level of fame projects like the Taken trilogy and Unknown have brought, but the box office for recent forays into this subgenre have been steadily diminishing, and next year, Neeson will star in dramas like A Monster Calls and Silence instead of, say, Stolen Boat, in which he attempts to retrieve his stolen boat.

Mortdecai Review
The Art Of War...On Quality Comedy
Watching the trajectory of Johnny Depp's career has, at this point, become far more entertaining than many of the features he chooses to star in. Aside from Into The Woods, he hasn't appeared in a feature that's grossed $100 million in four years (when the last Pirates of The Caribbean film was released), and while the forthcoming Whitey Bulger biopic Black Mass holds potential to restore some luster to his body of work, Mortdecai isn't just another Johnny Depp misfire, it's an aimless clunker of a film in it's own right.

American Sniper Will Have No Problem Taking Down Jennifer Lopez And Johnny Depp (Box Office Predictions)
Well now, American Sniper pretty much shattered all expectations didn't it? More than doubling the previous highest grossing January weekend of all-time, the Chris Kyle biopic debuted to over $89 million last frame, an extraordinary result that means it'll have a massive second weekend that'll have no trouble keeping three newcomers out of the number one spot.

Martin Luther King Jr. Is Brought To The Silver Screen In Trailer For Selma
One of the greatest advocates for civil rights who ever lived, Martin Luther King Jr. was a tremendous human being, a man whose great legacy is known throughout the world. Several times, films centered on the man have been attempted, but few, if any, have come to fruition. That changes this January, when Selma debuts in wide release. Check out the trailer for this drama below.

Marvel's Winter/Spring 2015 TV Shows Have Airdates!
2015 will be a monumental year for Marvel Studios. The company is concluding the second phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with their features The Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Ant-Man, while also launching a series of shows on Netflix that start next year with Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Plus, I'm hoping the Marvel One-Shots make a triumphant return of some kind. But let's not forget about their TV offerings on ABC, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and forthcoming miniseries Agent Carter!

Liam Neeson Returns for More Taking In First Trailer For Taken 3
Liam Neeson has certainly been busy with a bunch of action flicks recently. While they're not the only films he acts in (he was one of the best best parts of The LEGO Movie, and he stars in the next Martin Scorsese Movie) he's been primarily known for doing films where he beats up bad guys while sayings things in that intimidating voice of his. These kinds of movies started due to the popularity of Taken, which is getting second sequel called (no joking here) Tak3n. The first trailer for it has just arrived and you can watch it below.
