MovieBob is totally one of my favorite movie critics, a guy whose work as a YouTube film critic offers hope to a medium of expression oversaturated with PewdiePie knock-offs and shallow examples of film criticism. This is a guy who goes for analytical observations of movies, proving once again (much like The Dissolve or Roger Ebert's numerous internet essays) that internet-based film criticism can be a good thing, much as CinemaSins would make you understandably think otherwise! And today, MovieBob's released another entry in a series of long-form video essays he's dubbed Really That Good.
Really That Good looks to examine popular movies and see why they resonated with pop culture as well as the positive aspects about them that made them so beloved in the first place. This has been a pretty great series so far and that extended video of his on the first two Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies is an absolute thing of beauty, it's seriously so good and thoughtful in thoroughly investigating how well-done those two motion pictures are. Today, he's delivered the newest entry in the series, a Really That Good video based around The Matrix. I'm about to take a few minutes before my first college class this morning (it's a Media Literacy course for those curious) and watch it and I'd suggest you'd do the same! Let's support film criticism on YouTube reliant on both thoughtfulness and positivity, two elements that are mostly in dire supply over there!
Thank you again MovieBob for your hard work and dedication! If this new episode of Really That Good is even a quarter as good as past entries in this series, then I and all viewers of this video should be in for a treat!
