Five Not-So-Great Trailers For Great Films

I love movie trailers. They can function as a way to get excited about a film you already know about, as a means to entice you into seeing something you previously had no knowledge about or even serve as singular works of art in their own right. But not every movie trailer can be a winner, even if they're promoting motion pictures of top caliber quality. Inspired by The AV Club's examination of what makes a good trailer, today I'll be examining five movie trailers that I find to be subpar, a sharp contrast to the excellent films they're supposed to be raising awareness for.

Discussing the topic of racial inequality in America is pretty much one of the most hazardous things a person can do, right up there with swimming in nuclear waste and drinking paint. Whether the discussion takes place at a coffee shop or on the internet, you'll be lucky if the worst you encounter is someone minimizing brutal violence against African-Ameircans by noting "#alllivesmatter" It's an endlessly frustrating scenario, but it's far, far from the worst thing the tragedy of racial inequality has begat.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (S2E6) Review: Two Steps Forward, Two Steps Back

The Agents of what used to be a massive organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. sure don't get a lot of breaks in life. However, although the crux of the episode centers on more trouble for what's left of Nick Fury's spy agency, there's some breakthrough news to come for these guys and gals secretly protecting the world. But first, they have to deal with the fact that HYDRA just framed them for an attack on the United Nations.
