Marvel's Newest TV Show, Jessica Jones, Has A Lead...Krysten Ritter!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to put forth the next part of it's massive plan to expand ever onward; that part consists of four TV shows to debut new superheroes on Netflix individually before they all meet up for a miniseries event called The Defenders. The first Netflix show is Daredevil, set to be aired in May, and the next one has apparently gotten its lead actress ready to go.

Krysten Ritter will play the titular lead role of Jessica Jones, a superhero who runs a detective agency. A very interesting premise for the kind of storytelling format television provides just got bolstered by Ritter's participation. Don't know who she is right off the bat? Well folks, she's the actress who played Jane, Jesse's next door neighbor and lover, on Breaking Bad for ten episodes. She really impressed me on that show, and the moment I realized that she had that role on her resume, I got really, really excited to see what she'd do on the show.

Ritter was also the lead on the extremely well received show Don't Trust The B In Apartment 23, and has a role in this months Tim Burton's drama Big Eyes. Can't wait to see Ritter in the MCU, and I'm excited to see who they cast as Luke Cage, since he'll apparently be popping by on the show. It seems Mike Colter is the favorite to play the role, but we shall see.
