The marketing campaign for it hasn't kicked in yet, so most people are likely unaware that a new Terminator film, called Terminator: Genisys will descend on movie theaters everywhere next 4th of July. Paramount Pictures is certainly hoping people show up for the film, and seems to be pretty confident people will adore it judging by the fact that they just scheduled two sequels to the movie 10 months before it even comes out.
The sixth and seventh Terminator adventures will arrive May 19, 2017 and June 28, 2018. I presume they'll film the movies back-to-back considering the short window in between features, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. Just so you're up to speed, the film inspiring these follow-ups, Terminator: Genisys, has Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as The Terminator, and a whole slew of recognizable actors putting a new spin on beloved characters from the franchise.
Jason Clarke (Dawn of The Planet of The Apes, Zero Dark Thirty and the diabetic terrorist in White House Down) will play John Connor, while Emilia Clarke (Zoidbergs girlfriend on an episode of Futurama and the highly acclaimed role of Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones) will play Sarah Connor, and Jai Courtney (A Good Day To Die Hard, Divergent, Unbroken) is playing Kyle Reese. J.K. Simmons and Matt Smith are playing unknown roles in the film, which comes out July 1, 2015.
