Being a huge fan of Taylor Swift, you can imagine my excitement over her debuting the music video for her new single, Bad Bloods. My anticipation was likely heightened due to how much I enjoy the song itself; every time it popped up on my iTunes Radio Top 50 Pop station, I couldn't help but get giddy and/or dance. It's a shame then that this music video is just so incoherent. I mean, what the hell just happened here?

Lots can be said about Baz Luhrmann's 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby, but one can never say that the feature had a shortage of bombastic elements. Whether such elements were actually good or not is another debate (I'd say mostly not), but it is one of the more audacious movies made in recent years, with 3D being utilized to help fully sell the absorbing atmosphere of the era while rap music populates 1920's environments.

I have many traditions during the holiday season, but perhaps my favorite is one between me and my Mother. We always like to count how many times we hear one particular Christmas song on the radio. Now, it's common, even expected, for Christmas tunes to be repeated on the radio, at truth be told, that's mostly fine. The exception to that rule is Last Christmas, a song played so many times over the course of Christmas time that me and my Mother conjured up the tradition of counting how many times we hear it each year in order to avoid insanity.

There's a recurring tendency to put seeming hip above quality in any form of media that deals with modern technology. The title alone of Text Me Christmas should make one wretch, longing for the days when Bing Crosby crooned Yuletide tunes. However, this song manages to subvert one's expectations of a song that leans so heavily on 2014 technology to create a surprisingly sweet song.

I'd heard that Garth Brooks had a new song out earlier in the week, and like any sane human being, became overwhelmed by anticipation. Whenever I heard it was about to be played on my radio this morning, I nearly lost my mind. Who wasn't eagerly awaiting the first new tune from the legendary singer who took the artform of country music to the next level in the 90's? Friends In Low Places, Unanswered Prayers, Two Pina Coladas....the list of great songs he brought to life goes on and on. His newest piece of music, People Loving People, is a strong departure from those past songs, in that it's just not that good.

Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign Follow In The Footsteps of Vanilla Ice By Rapping About Ninja Turtles

Like fellow August film Guardians of The Galaxy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has to be one of the more bizarre films opening up in the summer of 2014. This is  movie, after all, where Megan Fox and Gob help a Johnny Knoxville voiced turtle fight a robot. And there's three other turtles. And pizza. And ninja stuff. Did I mention Tony Shalhoub plays a giant rat? That kind of blatant insanity has actually made me warm to the project, and the craziness continues with the movies "theme song" of sorts being unveiled today. In the style of the immortal Ninja Rap that Vanilla Ice belted out in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign have collaborated to bring you this song, entitled Shell Shocked.
