Melissa Benoist Will Star In Supergirl TV Show From The Makers Of Arrow

The DC Television Universe, which currently consists of Arrow and The Flash, is set to expand with Supergirl this fall, a new TV show that focuses on (SPOILER ALERT) Supergirl. She's a hero from Superman's human-resembling alien species who has similar powers (namely super strength and flying) to the Man Of Steel. There's been a massive hunt for the actress to play the hero, and now Melissa Benoist will be leading the program.

Last night, word came in that Will Arnett starring sitcom The Millers had been cancelled. The show was only a few episodes into it's second season, but ratings were middling for the show, it's most recent episode bringing in only 6.47 million viewers. I suspect a similar fortune shall befall fellow CBS sitcom The McCarthy's, which brought in even lower viewership in its most recent endeavor with only 6.36 million viewers.

Yesterday, the inevitable announcement arrived; HBO Go would be released as its own separate service. No other details were released, but presumably a monthly payment for HBO Go would get you all kinds of big movies and TV shows like Game of Thrones or Girls on your mobile devices. Many had been awaiting this day for ages, but it still managed to be the gauntlet being thrown down in terms of the future of television. The dominance of Netflix now full recognized, corporations are now realizing that way of consuming entertainment is no fad. The only way they can survive is to adapt.
