Melissa McCarthy Is The Lead In Ghostbusters 3

After many years and many many failed scripts, and even more numerous pushes from Dan Aykroyd, it looks like Ghostbusters 3 is finally taking form. Paul Feig signed on a while back to write and direct the movie, which would have a female group of Ghostbusters. It looks like that group is finally getting casted, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bridesmaids Director Paul Feig Set To Direct Ghostbusters Reboot

Ghostbusters 3 has been a potentiality for years, mainly through Dan Aykroyds refusal to give up on the franchise. But Bill Murray has always said he'd never do another one, and earlier this year the director of the two original Ghostbusters films Ivan Reitman also said he's not up for another proton pack adventure. That seemed like the end of the road for the busters...until now. Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids and The Heat, is officially onboard to direct the film.

Editorial: The Non-Marvel Shared Universe Movies Need To Stop

(Or: What Hath The Avengers Wrought)
After Marvel's extremely risk plan for combining stand-alone movies into one massive feature film called The Avengers paid off big time, studios began to scramble to join in on the newest cinematic craze; shared universes. The first franchise not from Marvel Studios to test this out was The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which took it's 2012 Andrew Garfield reboot and tired to stretch it to include hints at future spin-offs and sequels. The film was a calamity quality-wise and disappointing financially, which you'd think studios would take as a sign that not all movies need a shared universe.

Nope.
