The Animals Are Running Mild In We Bought A Zoo

We Bought A Zoo. We Bought A Zoo. We. Bought. A. Zoo. A little over five years after its initial theatrical release, the title of this 2011 Cameron Crowe motion picture still feels like a goofy joke, to the point that the host of this year's Oscars, Jimmy Kimmel, devoted an entire segment of the ceremony to mocking the film as part of his fictitious long-standing feud with Matt Damon. Add in how Cameron Crowe's recent artistic endeavors haven't gone great (Aloha was one of the worst movies of 2015 and his Showtime drama from last year, Roadies, has already been forgotten) and it's not hard to see how We Bought A Zoo has become a punchline.

Aloha Review

Sun, Sand, Surf And Boredom
Sitting there in that movie theater, watching an endless amount of frames flicker across the enormous screen, I could feel tedium consuming my entire being. What had I become? Where had I gone? Who am I? These were the sort of lofty inquires I'd have much rather pondered than watching Cameron Crowes Aloha, an exercise in filmmaking that attempts to prove how monotonous one singular feature film can be.

Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone Go To Hawaii In Trailer For Aloha

There's few actors I like more than Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone. I'd add Bill Murray, Rachel McAdams, Danny McBride and John Krasinski to that list too. So why does a film, called Aloha, that unites all these actors together look so....cookie-cutter? No really, this trailer plays more like a parody of the conventions of these kind of dramedy features instead of an actual concrete tease of a film. Check it out for yourself below.
