First Photo Of X-Men Villain Apocalypse Has Arrived!!

Entertainment Weekly has a long and proud tradition of wonderful covers that introduce new movie characters to audiences (remember those wonderful Terminator: Genisys portraits?). That tradition is kept alive this week with their newest cover, which introduces newest bad guy Apocalypse. Being played by Llewyn Davis, er, Oscar Isaac, he'll be the newest foe the X-Men have to face next summer, and you can see the first photo of him below!

Considering Bryan Singer ditched the X-Mens colorful costumes for leather outfits in the first X-Men movie (what'd you expect? Yellow spandex?), it's surprising that Apocalypse looks so faithful to his comic book iteration. Magneto also has a snazzy new outfit that, for some reason, has a metallic texture that reminds me of Ultron. I don't know what in the hell Psylocke is wearing though. Some recent comic book movies have allowed characters like Sif to wear costumes that are practical and not just there to emphasize cleavage, so it's disappointing to see Olivia Munn be saddled with a costume that feels more appropriate for a runway than being the soldier of a mutant bent on world destruction.

I'm sure this weeks issue of Entertaintment Weekly will have more photos of the expansive cast of this movie. Hopefully they have outfits more in line with Apocalypse and not Psylocke.
