2015 Will Go Down As The Year Marvel Solved Their Villain Problem

Spoilers for Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

One complaint lobbed at the Marvel Cinematic Universe on a constant basis is that their villains ain't up to par. I'm not sure if that's applicable to all their films (Alexander Pierce in The Winter Soldier was a chilling adversary and Ronan The Accuser in Guardians Of the Galaxy gets waaaaayyy too much hate), but compared to layered heroes like Iron Man, Captain America or Star-Lord, yeah, I agree that foes like Whiplash, Malekith or The Abomination don't stack up very well. But 2015 brought three very different villains to life that proved that this recurring problem with creating extraordinary enemies might be a thing of the past.

One of the worlds most prolific authors, Ernest Hemingway, once wrote how "The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places." It's those broken places that The Avengers: Age of Ultron likes to focus on in its main heroes, specifically in how the damage they experience on both an emotional and physical level affects those around him. Heady stuff for a summer blockbuster? Well, just because your a movie that has several moments of big things going boom, that doesn't mean you can't have some thoughtful ideas to go with your spectacle. Hulk smashing buildings isn't nearly as fun if I can't get into his psyche after all.

New Ant-Man Trailers Brings The Gags, The Ants And The Trains...Er, Pain

With Age of Ultron on the horizon (only 18 days to go!), Marvel is now turning it's attention to their next big budget blockbuster: Ant-Man. The only promotional material we've seen from the movie are some cool looking images, a funny poster and a decent, if overly serious, teaser. A new trailer has popped up to help put the movie on the map, and hey! It actually does a good job of setting the movie up as, maybe, just maybe, something special. Check it out below!

My God, the promotional campaign for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron is truly the gift that keeps on giving. That first trailer with a creepy rendition of "I've Got No Strings On Me" would be more than enough to get any person excited for the film, but then Marvel dropped this trailer yesterday that just continued to amp up my excitement for the feature.  Check out the trailer below!

Last night there was a massively important college football game which carried a new trailer for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Giving the world the first new footage from the film since it's first trailer back in October, the new trailer has already raked up nearly 3 millions views in under 12 hours. These ominous words are spoken by Ultron within the trailer for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and they do a superbly effective way of reminding one how much impact each of the individual heroes have had on the world at large. Since teaming up to protect New York, the Presidents been kidnapped, an Infinity Stone almost destroyed reality itself and HYDRA forces have come up again. The influence of Iron Man and the like are felt in numerous positive ways...but they also can have negative consequences on those they care about.

As you can tell by my avatar, I'm kind of a Marvel fan. So obviously I'm super duper pumped to see what the studios got up their sleeve this forthcoming Comic-Con. One thing that'll be on prominent display is their major summer 2015 release The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which as you might have guessed, is a sequel to a mildly successful The Avengers. Entertainment Weekly has made the movie their cover story for the week, and as you can tell by the awesome cover above, The Avengers are about to face a mighty awesome looking foe.
