Star Wars Rebels (S1E6) Review: A Day Of Revelation

The past two episodes of Rebels have been it's best so far by focusing on character and effective atmosphere, two components that have been recurring aspects of great Star Wars mythology. Empire Day, the sixth episode for this series, isn't a revolutionary piece of television, but I feel comfortable in labeling it another successful outing for the show, which is quickly finding it's footing going more in-depth into the world of its characters.

Star Wars Rebels (S1E3): A New Evil Emerges

This episode finally unveils the most heavily promoted new character on Star Wars Rebels, The Inquisitor. An antagonistic character with an eye-catching design and voiced by Jason Isaacs, he's been a fixture of most marketing for the show, but makes his first physical appearance on the program three episodes in (to be fair, he did appear in a hologram at the end of the TV movie). Before we get to his debut though, we've got to deal with the recent shenanigans of the crew of the Ghost.

Star Wars Rebels (S1E1) Review: Send In The Droids

I can't tell you how nervous I was for this episode. I mean, adding C-3PO and R2-D2 to the world of Star Wars: Rebels just reeked of poorly done fan-service. There are so many possibilities in this universe, and we're already reusing characters from the original trilogy? My cynical mindset was fully in control as I started watching the episode...and then C-3PO and R2-D2 entered the screen and it all melted away. Gosh darn it, I love those droids, and I was so, so, so happy to see them again.

Star Wars: Rebels Review

Sometimes, the original Star Wars movies strike me as some of the most underrated features in Hollywood. Now, that may sound ridiculous considering the massive pop culture impact those three movies had, but that kind of influence can make people forget that, beyond all the cool toys, video games, clothes, TV shows, three excellent films started  this whole mammoth franchise. Rewatching the original trilogy over the course of the past two weeks not only reminded me of how incredible those movies are, but it also put me in the perfect mindset to take in the first Star Wars project released from Disney, Star Wars: Rebels.
