FOX Wants To Believe The X-Files Could Return To Television

It's funny how quickly things can turn in the world of television. One minute you're on top of the world, the next you're struggling to get ratings momentum. FOX is in that kind of position right now, with the network that dominated the first decade of the 21st century hitting a rough patch last season that it hasn't recovered from. Hits like Gotham and Empire are offset by the crumbling American Idol empire and struggling comedies.

Gotham (S1E2) Review: The Cat Is Out Of The Bag

Well, with it's Pilot episode out of the way, it's time for Gotham to prove that it has more than just wink-wink references to future Batman villains up its sleeves. This episode actually doesn't do a great job proving that there's a ton more to this show than that, actually being a bit of a step back in terms of quality, though it did manage to incorporate a younger version of Catwoman into the proceedings in a satisfactory fashion.

Gotham (Series Premiere) Review

The mythology of Batman is so large at this point that to come at it with a new idea is almost impossible. Gotham isn't entirely original, but it does at least give us a perspective on the madcap world of The Caped Crusader that isn't usually given a lot of thought in comics, films or other storytelling mediums. It tells of a time before Batman, what was Gotham? What was the city and the people that lived in it like?

So, I Was On Netflix: Arrow Review

Each Tuesday, I review a movie that can be found on Netflix streaming. This week though, I break protocol in order to deliver you a review of the pilot episode of the CW drama Arrow.

DC has had a rough time breaking into non-Batman related success in the world of cinema, but it must be said, their TV offerings are actually quite impressive. The two new shows coming out this Fall based on the companies characters, The Flash and Gotham, are among the most anticipated new programs of the Fall TV Season. The show that helped pave the way for those two 2014 offerings though is 2012 offering Arrow, based on the comic books character (surprise surprise) Green Arrow.
