Tragic news everyone; Hannibal has been cancelled. The cult TV show never got powerhouse ratings, but it did have a devoted fanbase and it did fare well compared to other programming on NBC. Alas, the network has seen it fit to axe the show, which is currently in the middle of its third season.

There is some good news to be found; the international revenue the show brings in is sizable, so I wouldn't be surprised if a streaming network like Netflix, Amazon or Hulu picks the show up for another season. For now, it looks like Hannibal has taken a cue from the lambs in the title of one of his movies and been (wait for it) silenced.
